I have an interesting question. Why is salt salty, and what makes it salty? After all, it merely is a compound of NaCl. What makes us, us?

Is lab salt salty then? Or has it got something to do with the relatings of palates, chemical signals and biological workings spun together in an intricate web that means what might be salty for one might not for the other? Is there absolute truth?

Conversely, how does one take the saltiness out of salt? For if one is able to do so, the reverse is also possible. But perhaps sometimes somethings are just not within out ability. Can we really save ourselves?


13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

I see the evil I've become, and hate it. But there is still one hope...
